Kinston, N.C. -- Former Tar Heel pitcher Mike Bynum will be a member of the California League All-Star team in the 2000 ALLTEL All-Star game on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Grainger Stadium. The California League team will play the Carolina League's All-Star team in a matchup between standouts from two of the three Class A advanced minor leagues.
ynum is 7-3 with a 2.40 ERA this year for Rancho Cucamonga. ynum was drafted by the San Diego Padres as a supplemental first-round pick in the 1999 draft following a 7-1, 3.90 ERA season.
ynum is a 6-3, 200 pound native of Middleburg, Fla.
