Indianapolis, Ind. -- Ashley Prange, an incoming freshman golfer from Noblesville, Ind., fired a final-round, 4-under par 68 to win the Indiana Women's Amateur Championship at the Broadmoor Country Club. Prange's five-under par 70-73-68--211 total was good for a one-stroke victory over Kasey Grant, an all ig-Ten golfer from Michigan St.
Prange led after each round, but almost fell into a playoff on the tournament's final hole. Prange led Grant by three strokes going into the 18th hole, but had to make a four-foot putt for bogey to grab the win after Grant birdied the final hole.
Prange is ranked 37th among all U.S. junior women golfers in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, which assigns a power rating to all of the players who have played a combined four events out of a select list of tournaments over the past 52 weeks.
