Russ Adams and Sean Farrell Named Summer All-Stars

CHAPEL HILL -- Russ Adams and Sean Farrell, rising sophomores on the University of North Carolina baseball team, have been selected to play in the Coastal Plain League All-Star Game in Wilson, N.C.
Adams, a second baseman with the Durham Braves this summer, will start for the Southern Division in the July 11 game at Fleming Stadium. Adams is batting .277 in 24 games with 16 runs scored, seven RBIs and a league-leading 14 stolen bases. Last year with the Tar Heels, Adams batted .322 with 20 steals in 22 attempts.
Farrell was selected to start in the outfield for the Northern Division as a member of the Edenton Steamers. The Charlotte, N.C., native is batting .253 with four doubles, four home runs and a league-leading 20 RBIs. Farrell batted .273 with nine homers and 44 RBIs last year for the Tar Heels.
The Coastal Plain League is a collegiate summer baseball league featuring players from across the country.
