ELON COLLEGE, NC -- Patti Raduenz, a University of North Carolina softball assistant coach during the 1999-2000 school year, has been named head coach at Elon College. Prior to her stint at UNC, Raduenz had been an assistant coach at California State University of Sacramento and Iowa State University.
"We are very excited to have secured the services of Patti Raduenz," said Elon Director of Athletics Dr. Alan White. "She brings with her a wealth of experience that will serve her well at Elon."
A Burlington, Wis., native and graduate of Michigan State, Raduenz played for the Durham Dragons Women's Pro Softball League and in 1999, her final season in the league, was named a WPSL All-Star.
Raduenz inherits 14 returning letterwinners, including seven starting position players, from last season's Elon squad that finished fourth in the Big South Conference.
"I am happy to be part of the wonderful Elon College family," Raduenz said. "I am looking forward to taking the program to the next level."
