Nov. 18 and 19: Bunting, slap hitting, baserunning, pitching and catching skills

Saturday, Nov. 18
Bunt, Slap and Run!
9 a.m. to noon-Middle School Session (Age 10 through eighth grade)
1 to 4 p.m.-High School Session (Ninth through 12th grades)
Fees per player: $30 per three-hour session
* UNC coach Donna Papa will direct the hitting clinic along with Barry University coach Lisa Navas. The UNC softball players will assist.
* Learn the finer points of the game-different types of bunts, how to slap hit and steal more bases!
* Both sessions receive the same instructional content. Please note the age specific sessions.
Sunday, Nov. 19
Pitching-Rise/Curve
9 a.m. to noon-Pitchers
Review of fundamentals and mechanics of the windmill pitch, drills to increase your speed, and troubleshooting techniques
1-4 p.m.-Rise/Curve
The afternoon session will focus on two breaking pitches, riseball and curveball. Instruction for development of these pitches will be broken down into specific drills you can practice at home.
All day-Catchers
Review of fundamentals of receiving throws, blocking, throwing to bases, bunt coverage, receiving pitches, pop-ups, tag plays, framing, giving signals, pick-offs and much more! Bring your own catching gear.
Fees per player:
$45 for morning pitching session
$45 for afternoon pitching session
$80 for all day catching session
$80 for both pitching sessions
* Learn the mechanics of pitching from UNC pitching coach Beverly Smith and the Tar Heel pitching staff.
* Catching sessions will be led by Lisa Navas of Barry University and the Tar Heel catchers.
* Each session includes an instructional booklet.

* Players are encouraged to bring their own bat and glove.
* Lunch is not provided for any session. Players are encouraged to pack a lunch.
* Players must bring indoor and outdoor shoes.
* Registration will be held at Finley Field
* Players cannot participate without a signed waiver form.
From North of Chapel Hill
Take I-85 South to the 15-501 South Bypass. Follow signs to Chapel Hill. Cross over NC54 and turn left onto Old Mason Farm Road. (There is a stoplight at the intersection.) Finley Field is on the left, past the Ronald McDonald House.
From West of Chapel Hill
Take I-40 East to Exit 273 (NC54 West). Go right on NC54 and drive 2.3 miles. Turn left onto Old Mason Farm Road. (There is a stoplight at the intersection, as well as a sign for Finley Golf Course.) Turn right at the stop sign within the golf course. Finley Field is the second field on the right.
From East of Chapel Hill
Take I-40 West to Exit 273B (NC54 West). Follow above directions from the West.
From South of Chapel Hill
Take I-85 North to I-40 East. Follow I-40 East to Exit 273 (NC54 West). Follow above directions from the West.
