The Carolina baseball team begins its annual Fall World Series Thursday afternoon with a 3:15 intrasquad scrimmage at Boshamer Stadium. Freshmen Garry Bakker and Carter Harrell will take the mound for Game 1 of the best-of-five series.
Friday, the Heels will scrimmage at 6 p.m. and Scott Autrey and Daniel Moore will take the mound. Both Moore and Autrey, coming off productive summers in the Cape Cod Baseball League, figure to be part of Carolina's weekend pitching rotation in the spring.
Saturday's third game of the series begins at 10 a.m., making it a perfect start of the day for fans planning to attend UNC's 1:30 p.m. football game versus Virginia at Kenan Stadium.
Monday's and Tuesday's game will be played if necessary and will start at 2:45 and 2:30 respectively.
All games are free and open to the public.
