Head Coach Matt Doherty
"I want to thank the crowd. Our crowd gets a bad rap sometimes, but I tell you what, our crowd has been nothing but supportive over the last few games, coming out here with 17,500 thousand people. It was all positive even when things weren't going to well. I thought the crowd was very positive throughout and I appreciate that very much."
"We are fortunate to have won this basketball game. There were plenty of mistakes to go around. We had two young teams out there playing hard and we are fortunate the ball bounced our way at the end and guys made some shots."
"I can go down the line, it was a total team effort. From Jason to Kris's rebounding to Brian Morrison to Jackie's shots to Melvin's play down the stretch."
"It was a good weekend for Carolina athletics."
"I thought about making some subs [down the stretch], but we hung with [the freshmen] and they made some huge plays. Jawad give us a big lift, I thought he made some great plays. They grew up again.?
"I was concerned about playing Paul [Hewitt's] because they are so good with their pressure and we haven't experienced that yet. It concerned me that we would throw the ball all over the place. But, actually, 19 turnovers is kind of low in that kind of situation for our team right now."
"We can say we are good shooters all we want, but until the ball goes through the hoop in a game, you've got to feel it. I think [Brian Morrison] is going to be walking with his head held high right now."
"Again, I give a lot of credit to Kris and Jason. As a coach, when you walk out of a locker room, you need your better players and your upper-classman to echo your sentiments. I read their quotes and I hear through other people that those guys are really upbeat and really positive and that's a great feeling as a coach."

"First of all, I would like to thank the seniors, especially Jason and Kris, for holding this group together during a trying time. Without those guys and their leadership, we wouldn't have won this basketball game and have some hope. They could have easily pointed fingers or caved in, whatever you want to say. They not only stuck together, but they led us through this period. I'm very lucky to be coaching these kids."
"I haven't been playing very well, I got taken out of the starting rotation. For a little while things weren't going my way. I just said, 'Go out and play basketball and have fun' because that is what it had been about while I growing up. When I was out there I just wasn't having fun, so I just went out there and tried to play hard and have fun."
"Yes, it's a big win for us. We might be 0-3 out of conference, but what really matters is we're 1-0 in the ACC."
"It feels good. This is what we've been waiting for all year. It's our first one ? it feels great! This helps us a bunch. It gives us confidence, this is what we've been waiting for. As freshmen, we were out there in the clutch. We're ready to play, and we're going to bring it every night."
"He stepped up tremendously. We need the whole team to step up, everyone -- the bench, the guys on the court, everyone. That's what we had tonight, a team effort.
"[I haven't seen] that many people [hyped up for a game]. It felt good. I wasn't nervous, I was ready to play. We all were."
