Mike Cvelbar Wins Decathlon At Florida State Relays

Chapel Hill, N.C.--Mike Cvelbar won the decathlon on Thursday (March 22) at the Florida State Relays. Cvelbar totaled 7, 269 points which is an NCAA provisional qualifying standard to win the event, making him the first Tar Heel of the outdoor season to qualify for outdoor Nationals. The NCAA automatic qualifying standard in the decathlon is 7,500 points.
At the end of the first day, Cvelbar trailed Ramsey Moore of Liberty University by 170 points. On day two, Cvelbar bested Moore in four out of the remaining five events to earn the victory.
