UNC Women Golfers In Fifth Place At Dodge Shootout

Destin, Fla. - The University of North Carolina Women's golf team finished the second round of the Dodge ACC/SEC Shootout in fifth place. Tar Heel sophomore Ashley Prange moved from 17th place into tenth after shooting a three-over par 74 while teammate Shelley Mckevitt moved into 13 place after firing a four-over par 75. Junior Abby Spector dropped from fifth to 21st after shooting a round of 13-over par 84. Senior Beth Lever dropped from fifth to 18th after a round of 82 while Shelley McKevitt moved from 17 position to 13th after a round of three-over par 75. Freshman Romi Irons finished the day at 20-over par 91.
The University of Florida remained atop the tournament in team standings after a round of 304 for a 598 two day total. Mississippi State and Wake Forest are tied for second at 609 while the University of South Carolina, led by the top two individual scoring leaders Kristy McPherson and Adrienne Gautreaux, move into fourth place. The 54 hole Dodge ACC/SEC Shootout is being played at the par 71, 5937 yards Raven Course at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The tournament continues though Sunday.
