Spring Practice Photos - Day 2
Chapel Hill, N.C. ------ The North Carolina football team concluded its second day of spring practice on Wednesday afternoon at the Navy practice fields. Today was the Tar Heels' second day in shorts and helmets. On Friday, Carolina will practice in full pads for the first time this spring.
"I want this football team to be a more physical, tough team and of course, you've got to keep your poise," said head coach John Bunting. "They are ready to compete. I think that's what this team learned last year is how to compete. They are ready to put the pads on."
unting and the coaching staff will continue to evaluate the competion at quarterback where junior transfer C.J. Stephens and redshirt freshmen Matt Baker and Terrance Highsmith are vying for the starting position.
"We've got an outstanding team and we've got some high goals," said Stephens. "I don't think there's any more pressure on me that anybody else. We're all going to work as hard as we can and try to be as good as we can possibly be."
The Carolina spring game is April 13 beginning at 1 p.m. Players and coaches will be available for autographs after the game. The Carolina lacrosse team will face UMBC in Kenan Stadium approximately one hour after the conclusion of the Spring Game. Admission is free.
