Peppers To Ring NYSE Closing Bell

Chapel Hill, N.C. ------ University of North Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers will help ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, April 19, in New York City. Peppers, who will be in New York for the NFL Draft on Saturday, April 20, is one of five players who participate in ringing the closing bell.
The others are Fresno State quarterback David Carr, Texas cornerback Quentin Jammer, Miami tackle Bryant McKinnie and Texas tackle Mike Williams. Houston Texans owner Robert McNair will also participate.
A native of Bailey, N.C., Peppers won the 2001 Lombardi Trophy as the nation's top lineman and earned the Chuck Bednarik Award as the nation's top defensive player. A unanimous All-America selection in 2001, Peppers ranks second at Carolina in career sacks and career tackles for loss despite playing just three seasons.
