Women's Lacrosse Stays at No. 5 in IWLCA Poll

CHAPEL HILL - The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team remained ranked No. 5 in the latest IWLCA coaches poll, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tar Heels (7-2) have been ranked in the top five of the IWLCA poll throughout the first five weeks of the season.
The top six teams remain the same in this week's poll -- Georgetown is ranked No. 1 for the third week in a row, followed by No. 2 Princeton, No. 3 Loyola, No. 4 Virginia and UNC. Duke is ranked sixth, followed by No. 7 Syracuse, No. 8 Cornell, No. 9 Maryland and No. 10 Vanderbilt.
Carolina will return to action this weekend with a pair of road games against ranked teams. The Tar Heels will visit No. 19 George Mason (5-2) on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. and No. 1 Georgetown on Sunday at noon.
