Women's Lacrosse Jumps to #3 in IWLCA Poll

CHAPEL HILL -- The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team moved up to No. 3 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll, the IWLCA announced on Tuesday afternoon. Carolina was ranked No. 4 the last two weeks.
The Tar Heels are one of only three teams to have been ranked in the top five in all eight polls this season. Princeton and Georgetown are the others.
Princeton is ranked No. 1 for the third week in a row. Georgetown, which is ranked second for the third straight week, was ranked No. 1 before Carolina beat them, 11-10, in Washington D.C., on April 7. UNC is No. 3, followed by No. 4 Loyola and No. 5 Virginia.
Cornell is No. 6, followed by No. 7 Duke, No. 8 Maryland, No. 9 Yale and No. 10 Notre Dame.
This weekend, the Tar Heels will take to the road and play a pair of games in New England. On Friday afternoon, Carolina will play at Massachusetts at 4 p.m. and on Sunday afternoon the Heels will play at No. 13 Dartmouth at noon.
