Women's Golf In 9th After 2nd Round Of Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. -- The University of North Carolina women's golf team moved up to ninth place in team standings after the second round of the Bryan National Collegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, is being played at the par-72, 6,064-yard Bryan Park Champions Course.
After placing four of its golfers in the top ten, Duke University increased its lead by ten strokes after a round of 293 for a total of 590. In second place is Ohio State at 590, while the University of Georgia is a stroke back in third at 591. Oklahoma State is in fourth at 592, while tournament host Wake Forest finished the second round in a tie with Memphis University at 596.
In individual scoring, Angela Jerman of the University of Georgia moved into first place after firing a two-under-par-70, while Duke's Virada Nirapathpongporn drops to second after a three-over-75. Summer Sirmons of Georgia follows in third with a two round total of 143 , while one stroke behind in fourth is Ashley Lowery of Ohio State at 144.
For the University of North Carolina, Shelley McKevitt is tied for 29th after a round of 74. Ashley Prange and Abby Spector are both 16 strokes off the lead and tied for 40th, while teammates Meghan Adams and Beth Lever find themselves in 59th and 77th place, respectively.
The third and final round is an 8:30 shotgun start on Sunday morning.
