Head coach John Bunting and the 2002 University of North Carolina football team will host "Meet the Heels" on Sunday, August 25th from 3:30-5 p.m. at Kenan Stadium. Coach Bunting, his staff and the entire Tar Heel squad will sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans.
The Charlie Justice Hall of Honor, which features several interactive exhibits located on the ground floor of the Frank H. Kenan Football Center, will be open to the public from 2 to 3 p.m. Gates 5, 6 and 7 on the press box side (UNC bench side) will open at 3 p.m. for fans to enter the stadium.
A new addition to the Hall of Honor is a bas-relief of tailback Don McCauley, who just joined the College Football Hall of Fame, and a new banner and glass plaque of consensus All-America Julius Peppers. Peppers' banner hangs from the ceiling along with other Tar Heel greats.
Woody Durham, now in his 32nd year as the "Voice of the Tar Heels" will introduce the team beginning at 3:30 p.m. Carolina football trading cards, schedule cards, rosters and schedule posters will be given away free. Fans can also register to win a Mitsubishi large screen TV and a DirecTV satellite package that will give away at the end of the year.
Concession stands and restroom facilities will be open and Student Stores will sell merchandise on the concourse. Parking is available in the Ramshead Lot (off Ridge Road) and the Bell Tower Lot (off Raleigh Road).
