Yale Upsets Tar Heels, 2-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The University of North Carolina men's soccer team lost its second consecutive game on Friday afternoon, dropping a 2-1 decision to Yale at the adidas/Brown Classic on the campus of Brown University. With the loss, Carolina falls to 3-2 this season. Yale, playing its season-opener, improves to 1-0.
The Tar Heels, who lost 1-0 at home to Davidson last Saturday night, have lost two consecutive games for the first time in over two seasons - since the last two games of the 1999 season.
Carolina fell behind, 2-0, in the first half and could not mount a comeback. Justin Burton scored twice for the Bulldogs, scoring at the 15:28 mark on a header off an assist from Jay Alberts. Burton scored again less than 15 minutes later, scoring unassisted at 30:01.
Jonathan Davis scored for UNC with under five minutes to play at the 85:26 mark off an assist from Logan Pause, but the Heels could not even the score.
Carolina will be back in action on Sunday afternoon against host Brown at 1:30 p.m.
