In a poll that has been running on TarHeelBlue.com over the past week, Dan Orner's three long field goals at Syracuse are considered by Carolina fans to be the best plays thus far of the 2002 football season.
Orner tied an NCAA record with three field goals beyond 50 yards, including a UNC-record 55-yarder in Carolina's 30-22 win over the Orangemen.
The poll asks Tar Heel fans to vote on their favorite play(s) so far this football season, and 44.9 percent have selected Orner's kicks through Thursday morning. Carolina's third quarter goal line stand versus Miami (Ohio) has garnered 16.9 percent of the vote, while Darian Durant's 27-yard TD run against Texas (16.7 percent), Jarwarski Pollock's 48-yard touchdown catch at Syracuse (10.8 percent) and Willie Parker's 50-yard scoring run against the Orangemen (8.5 percent) round out the Top 5.
