Edwards Named ACC Rookie Of The Week

University of North Carolina linebacker Larry Edwards (Tampa, Fla.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for his performance in Carolina's game against Arizona State. Edwards led the Tar Heels in tackles for the third consecutive week, posting a season-high 15 stops against the Sun Devils. The 6-3, 215-pound freshman recorded 13 solo tackles and two assists and was credited with one tackle for loss. Edwards is the first true freshman to start at linebacker since Tommy Thigpen in 1989
