Tar Heels Travel to ACC/Big Ten Challenge

CHAPEL HILL --The Carolina women's lacrosse team will play a pair of games this weekend in Columbus, Ohio, as part of the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge, this year held on the campus of Ohio State University.
The Tar Heels (3-4) will play the host Buckeyes on Friday evening at 7 p.m. (following the opening game pitting Maryland against Penn State). On Sunday afternoon, Carolina will play the Nittany Lions at noon. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 9 in this week's IWLCA national poll.
UNC is led in scoring this season by junior Beth Ames' 13 goals and 15 total points. Sophomore Allison Higgins is second on the team with 10 goals, while junior goalkeeper Katelyn Hoffman leads the ACC with a goals-against average of 5.05.
Carolina will return home for a pair of games at Henry Stadium in Chapel Hill next weekend. UNC will play George Mason on Friday at 5 p.m. and Georgetown on Sunday at 1 p.m.
