UNC Women's Golf Drop To Tenth at Bryan National

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - The University of North Carolina women's golf team finished the second day of the Bryan National Collegiate in tenth place. The Tar Heels followed their first round 303 team total with an indentical 303 for a two day total of 606.
With the strong performance of the Blue Devil trio of Leigh Anne Harden(5th), Elizabeth Janangelo(6th), and Kristina Engstrom(7th), Duke University remains in first place with a team score of 580. However, Vanderbilt University has closed within four strokes with a total of 584. The University of Georgia is sixteen strokes off the pace at 596 while tournament host Wake Forest University and the Volunteers of Tennessee round out the top five in team standings at 597 and 600, respectively.
The top four in individual scroring include Nauria Clau who jumped from 26th place into a four-way tie for first at 142 with Kristy McPherson of South Carolina, and Vanderbilt University1s Courtney Wood and May Wood.
In individual scoring for the Tar Heels, Junior Meaghan Francella is tied for 9th place with atwo day total of 146. Junior Ashley Prange is tied for 24th place at 150. Senior Meghan Adams follows at 154 while Freshman Beth Marushak and Abby Spector ended the second round with totals of 159 and 161, respectively. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, was played at the par-72, 6,064-yard Bryan Park Champions Course.
