NCAA Regional Sites Announced

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Eight regional sites have been selected for the 2003 NCAA Division I Women's Softball Championship and were announced today by the NCAA Division I Women's Softball Committee.
The eight regional sites, with host institutions are as follows: Tuscaloosa, Alabama (University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa); Tucson, Arizona (University of Arizona); Fullerton, California (California State University, Fullerton); Gainesville, Florida (University of Florida); Fresno, California (California State University, Fresno); Ann Arbor, Michigan (University of Michigan); Lincoln, Nebraska (University of Nebraska, Lincoln); Austin, Texas (University of Texas at Austin).
The Tar Heels will compete at the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, May 9-11, in Tallahassee, Fla. UNC will face Georgia Tech or Florida State (depending on the outcome of FSU and Georgia Tech on May 4 in Atlanta, Ga.) at 5 p.m. on Friday in the first quarterfinal game of the tournament.
