Three Tar Heels Garner Academic Honor

Three members of the University of North Carolina softball team were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced recently. Junior Alison Yin and sophomores Anna Evans and Joslin Higgins were honored for having grade point averages of 3.5 or higher for the 2003-04 academic year.
The NFCA presents this award to student-athletes competing in Divisions I, II and III, as well as the NAIA and junior colleges. More than 2,700 softball players were recognized for the 2003-04 year. Yin, Evans and Higgins were also named to the Dean's List at least once during 2003-04.
