Softball Drops Game Two To No. 19 Stanford, 6-2

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina softball fell at the hands of #19 Stanford on Saturday afternoon 6-2.

A first inning error eventually led to a run for Stanford and then the Cardinal tacked on another in the second inning to go up 2-0.
Â
MC Eaton blasted a homer to deep center field to extend UNC's home run streak to 26 games, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
Â
Carly Maxton was able to throw zeros up in the third and fourth innings but unfortunately, so was Stanford.
Â
In the fifth, Stanford broke through and put up a three spot to take a commanding 6-1 lead.
Â
Sanaa Thompson chipped away with a solo home run of her own but ultimately the deficit was too much to overcome.
Â
Kendall Frost was lights out in the circle getting four straight outs to put up a perfect 1.1 innings in relief.
