CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Bryon Bishop, a 6-3, 295-pound lineman from Union, S.C., has signed a scholarship agreement to play football at the University of North Carolina. Bishop played offensive and defensive line at Union High School and was the No. 31 prospect in South Carolina, according to SuperPrep, a high school football recruiting magazine.
"We're excited to add a player of this caliber to our recruiting class so late in the process," said head coach John Bunting. "Bryon is a talented player who could help us at either offensive line or defensive line. Coach (Andre') Powell did a great job recruiting Bryon and we look forward to having Bryon join us in August."
ishop played at Union for three seasons and was a starter as a junior and senior. Although he played most of his career on the defensive line, Bishop switched to offensive tackle as a senior. He had 60 tackles and six sacks as a junior.
