By Adam Lucas There are two very noticeable ways to tell that classes are about to start at the University of North Carolina. First, pedestrian traffic is back to its usual in-session peak. Second, football practices are back to once per day. The Tar Heels practiced Monday morning on the last day before classes begin, working in full pads on a variety of thud-tempo team periods and drills. Just four practices remain before game week preparation begins, but John Bunting is glad he caught a scheduling break this year. "I like it because we don't have a game to play this week," he said. "In the past we've always started classes the same week as the first game. This way, players have an opportunity to experience going to class while still being a week away from the game." Notes: Skip Seagraves is slowly getting back to action, going from the red (injured) shirt he's worn for most of the past two weeks to a green (limited action) shirt Monday morning. Seagraves, a fifth-year senior, had a firm grip on a starting spot coming into camp, but his injury problems have created some competition. "When you're gone that length of time it's hard to get started for the season," Bunting said. "It's hard for anybody to miss almost the entire preseason and go out and play the first or second game. He has a lot of work to do to catch up."...The coaches held a personnel meeting after Sunday evening's practice and are beginning to put together the various units that will start the year. "There were some decisions that aren't yet absolute in terms of redshirting, who we see as our two-deep, and who we see as our scout teams," Bunting said. "Identifying all those various prospects that will help our football team this year and preparing some players for next year is what that meeting was all about. We are also working on putting together our first cut for the traveling squad."
