Former North Carolina football standouts Julius Peppers and William Henderson have been selected to the National Football League All-Pro team, the Associated Press announced Thursday.
The second overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, Peppers is a defensive end for the Carolina Panthers, who finished one game shy of the playoffs this season. Peppers finished the season with 64 tackles, 11 sacks and scored two touchdowns.
Peppers was a unanimous first-team All-America at North Carolina in 2001 and won the Lombardi Trophy as the nation's top lineman.
A 10-year veteran fullback with the Green Bay Packers, Henderson had 34 catches for 239 yards and three touchdowns in 2004. He made his first Pro Bowl earlier this year.
Henderson and Peppers will be joined in the Pro Bowl by former Tar Heels Alge Crumpler, a tight end with the Atlanta Falcons, and Dre' Bly, a cornerback with the Detroit Lions.
Only Miami (Fla.) had more Pro Bowl players in the NFL than Carolina.
