Justice Named Finalist For Wuerffel Trophy; Earns Academic All-District Honors

Chapel Hill, N.C. ----- University of North Carolina linebacker Doug Justice has been named one of 13 finalists for the 2005 Wuerffel Trophy Award, which is presented to the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.
The award is named after former Florida quarterback and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel.
In addition, Justice has been selected to the selected to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District football team.
A senior from Port Orange, Fla., Justice carries a 3.49 grade point average in psychology and communications.
A four-year letterwinner at middle linebacker, Justice's season came to an end this year after breaking his right foot in the second half against Wisconsin. He has 22 career starts and 205 career tackles.
Last year, he was instrumental in Carolina's late-season push to earn a bid to the Continental Tire Bowl, starting the final four games of the season.
Justice is an active member of the community. His community service activities include: Habitat for Humanity, Get Kids In Action, Volunteers For Youth, IFC Soup Kitchen, Camp New Hope, Share Your Christmas.
Earlier this year, he was named the 2005 AFCA Good Works Team.
