Miller, Horton Collect Midseason Honors from Baseball America

DURHAM, N.C. - North Carolina sophomore left-hander Andrew Miller was named second-team midseason All-America by Baseball America, and rookie shortstop Josh Horton was named to the publication's midseason freshman All-America team, which was announced Friday.
Miller, who has been the Tar Heels' Friday starter for much of the season, leads the team with a 1.25 earned run average, a 6-0 record and 59 strikeouts in 50.1 innings. He is holding opponents to a .209 batting average. Miller ranks among the Atlantic Coast Conference's best in each of these categories.
Horton, who has started 24 of Carolina's 30 games at shortstop, is batting .329 on the season with two homers and 11 runs batted in. He has five doubles and is tied for second on the squad with four stolen bases.
The Tar Heels return to action with Miller on the mound Friday at Maryland at 7 p.m.
