A Poem For Berlin
y Meredith Jones and Christie Clark
Now you will here from Chris and Mere,
We woke up in Braunschweig without a care.
The granola at breakfast was the best part there.
We loaded the bus, only us having to share.
We arrived in Berlin and took a tour of it all,
And got off the bus to walk by the Wall.
We saw the artwork painted after the fall,
With our brains full of culture it was time for the mall.
Our hopes were dashed to find stores closed on Sunday,
So Chris found some food, and for the German kind did pay.
We also spotted Starbucks; it made us happy we must say.
ut Mere found McDonalds and did it the American way.
To see the Blue Man Group we went in our heels.
Comfortable feet, we forgot how they feel.
People were staring because we stood out like giraffes,
ut we made sure they knew we were all Tar Heels.
To the restrauant we went to spend our buck.
Chris go sausage and Mere ate some duck.
The highlight of the night came with great luck,
After eating free gelato, we needed a tummy tuck.
Night was fun, but morning came fast.
reakfast granola didn't add up to the past.
We loaded the bus, saw Checkpoint Charlie at last.
ut it cost one Euro to take a picture with the cast.
At diner our stomachs got their full share.
We went up in a balloon, saw the sights from the air.
We met up later at the Holocaust square,
It reminded everyone that it just was not fair.
Later we traveled to play the Junior National Team.
Unfortunately, we didn't come out with a win.
At the diner where we ate the service made us steam,
To the hotel we returned to get nice and clean.
Auf wiedersehen!
