Carlotti, Kearney Reach Round of 16 at Wilson/ITA Mideast Regional

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Benjamin Carlotti and Chris Kearney advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Mideast Indoor Championships at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. In doubles Lenny Gullan and David Stone advanced to the quarterfinals.
Carlotti defeated Maryland's Andy Orban and Clemson's Ryan Young on Friday. True freshman Chris Kearney defeated Elon's Damon Gooch and East Tennessee State's Enrique Olivares.
Stone and Gullan continued their impressive play, winning the first five games against Duke's Kirl Dmitrov and Ned Samuelson. Last month Stone and Gullan advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA All-American Championships. Stone and Gullan have won eight of nine matches this fall.
Singles play begins at 9 a.m. Saturday for both Tar Heels. Quarterfinal singles matches will be played at 1 p.m. followed by the doubles quarterfinals.
