With another sack in Week 4, Former Tar Heel Julius Peppers now has five sacks on the young NFL season and shares the sack lead with Bart Scott of the Ravens, Trent Cole of the Eagles, and Tommie Harris of the Bears. Peppers' sack came in the second quarter as the Saints were threatening in the red zone. On third and seven, Saints quarterback Drew Brees dropped back to pass but was sacked and lost the ball as Peppers corralled him. The play forced the Saints to a John Carney field goal and retained the Panthers lead at the time. Peppers also had four tackles and one pass defense in the 21-18 win over the Saints. Peppers and the Panthers will be at home again next week as they welcome the Cleveland Browns to town.
