Tar Heels Remain Undefeated With 5-2 Victory At San Diego

San Diego, Calif. - Thirteenth ranked North Carolina remained undefeated with a 5-2 victory #23 San Diego Monday afternoon. Senior Raian Luchici clinched the victory for the Tar Heels with a win over 45th rated Pierrick Ysern at number one singles.
David Stone and Lenny Gullan provided the clinching victory in doubles for the Tar Heels by an 8-6 score. Windy conditions created a tough start to singles, as Carolina dropped four first sets. However, senior Brad Pomeroy regained the momentum with a 7-6(11-9), 6-2 victory over Oscar Plotnik to put the Tar Heels ahead 2-1.
The Tar Heels, now 14-0, continue their two match spring break road swing facing the San Diego State Aztecs on Wednesday at 3 p.m. EST.
