North Carolina seniors Ronnie McGill and Kareen Taylor are in Jacksonville, Fla., for the ACC Kickoff, a annual two-day media event to promote the start of the college football season. After a morning photo opportunity, McGill and Taylor will participate in interviews Sunday afternoon with media representatives from all 12 ACC markets. Head coach John Bunting will arrive Sunday evening and speak with the media on Monday.
In seven games last year, McGill rushed for 75.7 yards per game, which would have ranked fifth in the league statistical rankings. He had two 100-yard games, including a season-high 146 yards in a win over Duke.
Taylor, a 6-0, 200-pound safety from Hopewell, Va., enters his third season as a starter. He is ranked the No. 14 safety in the country by The Sporting News. In 2005, he had 61 tackles and two interceptions, including a 25-yard touchdown return against Maryland.
