NFL Update: Week 2

Former Tar Heel Julius Peppers was all over the field in Week 2 against the Vikings as he not only recorded three sacks and six tackles, but also blocked a field goal for the second straight week. His block came in the third quarter on Ryan Longwell's 51 yard attempt. The play resulted in a touchdown for the Panthers but was later nullified on an illegal forward pass. Later in the fourth quarter, the Vikings executed a fake field goal that tied the game at 13, sending the game into overtime where the Vikings would eventually prevail on a Longwell field goal, 16-13. Peppers and the Panthers will travel to Tampa Bay for Week 3.
Sam Aiken, Buffalo Bills - Played wide receiver and recorded one tackle on special teams in the Bills' 16-6 win over the Miami Dolphins as Buffalo moved to 1-1 on the season.
Ethan Albright, Washington Redskins - Played long snapper in the Redskins' Sunday Night loss to the Dallas Cowboys, 27-10.
Dre' Bly, Detroit Lions - Started at cornerback for the Lions and had one forced fumble, two tackles and two pass defenses in the Lions' 34-7 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Jason Brown, Baltimore Ravens - Played guard in the Ravens' 26-8 defeat of the Oakland Raiders. After Week 2, the Ravens are one of the 11 unbeaten teams in the NFL.
Alge Crumpler, Atlanta Falcons - Started at tight end and caught one pass for 22 yards in the Falcons' 14-3 win over the NFC South rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons rushed for 306 yards in the game, while Michael Vick passed for only 92 on 15 attempts.
Ronald Curry, Oakland Raiders - Played wide receiver and caught two passes for 31 yards as the Raiders fell to the Ravens, 28-6.
Russell Davis, Seattle Seahawks - Not active in Week 2.
Ebenezer Ekuban - Denver Broncos - Started at right defensive end recording two tackles and a half sack in the Broncos' 9-6 overtime win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Greg Ellis, Dallas Cowboys - Started at linebacker in the Cowboys' 3-4 scheme and recorded two tackles and one and a half sacks in the team's 27-10 win over the Redskins.
Madison Hedgecock, St. Louis Rams - Played fullback and recorded two tackles on special teams in the Rams' 20-13 loss to the Denver Broncos.
William Henderson, Green Bay - Started at fullback in the Packers' 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Packers managed only 63 yards on 20 carries.
Vonnie Holliday, Miami Dolphins - Started at defensive tackle and recorded five tackles in the Dolphins' loss to the Bills, 16-6.
Keith Newman, Miami Dolphins - Played linebacker in the Dolphins' 16-6 loss to the Bills.
Willie Parker, Pittsburgh Steelers - Started at running back and rushed for only 20 yards on 11 carries in the Steelers' Monday night loss to the Jaguars, 9-0. Parker also caught three balls for six yards. The Steelers managed only 153 yards on offense the whole night.
Julius Peppers, Carolina Panthers - Started at left defensive end and recorded six tackles, one pass defense, three sacks, and blocked field goal in Carolina's 16-13 overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Jeff Reed, Pittsburgh Steelers - Performed kickoff duties in the Steelers' 9-0 loss to the Jaguars.
Jeff Saturday, Indianapolis Colts - Started at center as the Colts toppled the Houston Texans, 43-24.
Jonas Seawright, New York Giants - Not active for the Giants' Week 2 matchup.
Gerald Sensabaugh, Jacksonville Jaguars - Played safety as the Jaguars won on Monday Night 9-0 over the Steelers.
Brian Simmons, Cincinnati Bengals - Started at middle linebacker and had four tackles, one interception, one forced fumble, and one pass defense as the Bengals moved past the Cleveland Browns, 34-17 to move to 2-0.
Ryan Sims, Kansas City - Played defensive tackle as the Chiefs fell to the Broncos, 9-6.
Jeb Terry, Tampa Bay - Played guard as the Bucs lost to the Falcons, 14-3.
David Thornton, Tennessee Titans - Started at left-side linebacker and recorded four tackles in the Titans' loss to the San Diego Chargers, 40-17.
Greg Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers - Played long snapper as the Steelers fell to the Jaguars, 9-0.
