North Carolina wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week for his performance against Rutgers. Nicks had seven receptions for 63 yards and caught a two-yard scoring pass from Tar Heel quarterback Joe Dailey with 5:09 left to play in the fourth quarter. A native of Charlotte, N.C., Nicks tied the the single-game record for receptions by a UNC freshman.
