Carolina Postgame Notes vs. Georgia Tech
The 77-61 win was the 1900th alltime for the University of North Carolina. That is second best alltime behind the University of Kentucky, which has won 1,941 games.
Tyler Hansbrough matched his career high with 14 made free throws. He was 14 for 15 from the line this evening. He was 14 for 14 against NC State and 14 for 19 against Georgia Tech last year.
The 14 made free throws are the most by a Tar Heel this year (Hansbrough had 11 against Tennessee back in November).
Brandan Wright (9 points) did not score in double figures for the first time as a Tar Heel. He had been the only Tar Heel to score in double figures in each of the first 18 games.
Reyshawn Terry scored 16 points, 10 in the first half. His previous scoring high in an ACC game this year was eight at Clemson.
This was the sixth time this season the Tar Heels forced 20 or more turnovers in a game. The Yellow Jackets committed 21 turnovers that led to 20 UNC points.
Hansbrough scored 24 points, the 13th time this year (32nd career) that he has led the Tar Heels in scoring. It was his eighth 20-point game of the season (21st career).
