Carolina Postgame Notes vs. Florida State
Tyler Hansbrough posted his fourth double-double of the season and 10th of his career with 25 points and 13 rebounds. It was the 20th time he has scored 20 or more points as a Tar Heel, including the seventh time this year.
It was Hansbrough's eighth career game with at least 25 points.
Wayne Ellington had a season-high five assists.
Ty Lawson had four steals, matching the season high by a Tar Heel this year.
Carolina shot 52.8 percent from the floor in the second half, the 11th in 15 games UNC has shot 50 percent or better in the second half. The Tar Heels have shot better than 50 percent in the second half in six consecutive games.
The Seminoles shot 29.4 percent from the floor in the second half. That is the seventh time in as many games that the opponents have sht less than 46 percent in the second half and the third time in that seven-game stretch the opponents have shot less than 35 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes.
Carolina had only 10 turnovers for the second game in a row. Over the last two games, the Tar Heels have 45 assists and 20 turnovers. The Tar Heels have averaged only 12 turnovers in the last five games.
Reyshawn Terry was scoreless for the first time since the USC game last December, but he did have seven rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots tonight.
Brandan Wright scored 20 points, the fourth time this year he has scored 20 or more points.
Florida State shot 34.4 percent from the field, the ninth time this year the Tar Heels have held the opponents to under 40 percent shooting from the floor in a game.
Quentin Thomas (three assists tonight) has seven assists and zero turnovers in the two games since he returned from injury.
