Carlotti Advances To Main Draw of Polo Championships

TULSA, OKLA. - North Carolina senior Benjamin Carlotti of Paris, France has advanced to the main draw of the 2007 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa. Carlotti, who won three straight matches in the qualifying tournament, will start play in the main draw Thursday against an opponent to be determined.
Meanwhile, freshman Chris Kearney saw his run through the qualifying phase end Wednesday as he lost 6-4, 6-1 to Dmytro Petrov of Oklahoma.
Carlotti defeated Kean Feeder of Boise State 6-3, 6-3 in the third round of qualifying to earn his spot in the main draw. Carlotti will be joined in the main draw of the tournament by fellow seniors Lenny Gullan and David Stone, the No. 18-ranked doubles team in the country. Gullan and Stone earned an automatic invitation into the main draw.
