Chapel Hill, N.C. ---- University of North Carolina head coach Butch Davis will host his weekly radio call-in show, Butch Davis Live!, on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. from Top of the Hill restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill. Long-time play-by-play man Woody Durham and Davis will discuss this week's upcoming game with James Madison and take calls from listeners. Safety Trimane Goddard, who is back after missing a year with a foot injury, will be this week's player guest.
The show can be heard on the Tar Heel Sports Network. Locally, listeners can tune in to WCHL 1360 AM in Chapel Hill and 850 The Buzz AM in Raleigh/Durham.
The restaurant is accepting reservations (call 929-8676 to make them), although space is limited and some dates are already close to booked.
Every seat will be a good one, as a closed circuit broadcast of the show will be shown on every television in the restaurant. The venue's state-of-the-art new speaker system will also feature audio of the show. Top of the Hill asks patrons to arrive no later than 6:30 in order to minimize disruptions during the show, which begins at 7 p.m. How excited are people about the Davis era? It's even led to one of the biggest rarities in Chapel Hill--free parking. Walter Holt of Grubb Ellis/Thomas Linderman Graham Property has extended free parking at University Square to every Carolina fan attending the show.
