Sources have informed TarHeelBlue.com that Washington Redskins deep snapper Ethan Albright has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster as the team's deep snapper. Albright, a first-team All-ACC selection for the Tar Heels in 1993, recently concluded his 14th season in the NFL and seventh with the Redskins.
Albright is regarded as one of the NFL's best and most consistent long snappers. He has played in all 16 regular-season games for the past 12 seasons (Buffalo, 1996-2000; Washington, 2001-07).
Albright was a four-year letterwinner at UNC from 1990-93. He originally signed with the Miami Dolphins in 1994, then later became Buffalo's starting deep snapper in 1996. He signed with the Redskins in 2001.
Albright is the second Tar Heel named to the Pro Bowl, joining Indianapolis center Jeff Saturday. Dallas linebacker Greg Ellis is an alternate.
