Senior Safety Trimane Goddard
On Georgia Tech's option offense: "You have to be a very disciplined defense. If a guy is not in the right spot, a big run can happen. One person out of place can cause a big play. So it takes the whole team to be on the same page and reading their keys, cause if not it could be a 60 yard play."
On preparation for Georgia Tech compared to last year: "I think the team is a lot better at this point. We have a lot more experience and we know what it takes to be successful. It is going to take even more time to prepare this week because you do not face an offense like this very often. We must have a lot more focus."
On winning the Coastal division in the ACC: "We think we can, but we have to just control our end. If we start worrying about what other teams do it will catch up with us and we could end up losing a game. We are just trying to focus on what we need to do and taking it one game at a time, the league is so balanced we'll see what happens."
On coming off the bye week: "We go into practice to get better. We are focused on the opponent, but we are also focused on improving our team. I think we are healthier and we got some rest, we did not have as much contact."
Junior Quarterback Cameron Sexton
On coming off of the bye week: "We had a good practice yesterday [Sunday], we came out and had a good day in the afternoon. You could tell guys took the extra time to get ready for Georgia Tech because we were crisp yesterday. Coming off a bye week I think that was good."
On the balance of the ACC: "I am not really paying attention to it at all. A the same time you can not avoid it and you do hear about it. Obviously, we are thinking about it because we have our goals we want to accomplish. I think we are pretty focused and locked in on Georgia Tech this week."
On Georgia Tech's defense: "I think their defense is really good and they have about three guys we are really going to focus on making sure we are ready for this week. I think their two defensive ends are very good and they have a good linebacker, they have a good secondary as well. I feel like we used the extra time to get ready for this week. We know how good they are and how big this game is, so we will be ready to play."
On Georgia Tech's option offense: "I think we have anticipated this game to be a little like the Connecticut game, with two good running teams. I think we have planned on have a couple less possessions because they are a good ball control team. We know we have to put an extra emphasis on our possessions to capitalize on opportunities. We have to make sure we have to sustain drives this week. It is going to be a big key for us because we have to stay on the field. We know defending the option is going to be tough for our defense and we need to try to control the clock and keep the defense off the field a little bit."
