Get To Know The 'Neers

So the Meineke Car Care Bowl matchup is about 24 hours old and already ticket sales are booming (you can get yours here, of course, and help contribute to what could be a pro-Carolina crowd). But what exactly do you know about the 8-4 West Virginia Mountaineers?
They're led by quarterback Pat White, who might be the best player in school history, although his senior season hasn't gone the way he had hoped. The offense, including lightning-quick tailback Noel Devine, gets most of the headlines. But the defense, which played well in a 13-7 win over South Florida Saturday, is opportunistic and stingy.
The Mountaineers are in their first year under new head coach Bill Stewart, who just wrapped up an 8-4 campaign in his transition year. Stewart will spend plenty of time over the next couple of weeks watching Carolina film. What little familiarity he has with the Tar Heels right now comes from a viewing of the Rutgers game, which left him very impressed with North Carolina. Oh, and the head Mountaineer also seems to be poised for the entire state of West Virginia to take over the world. Keep an eye on that.
