The grounds crew at the USA Baseball National Training Complex are beginning to pull the tarp off the field. All fans exited the stadium at 7:20 p.m. and some have left the grounds in Cary, but the gates have opened back up. Play will resume shortly in the top of seventh as Brain Moran appears to continue on the mound for the Heels. The Diamond Heels lead 6-1 behind a three-run home run from designated Mark Fleury and a 2 RBI performance from Tim Fedroff. Fedroff is only a sophomore, but is eligible for the 2008 MLB draft because of his age (21 years old). Many future Tar Heels could be selected as well, including Tim Melville. Last season, would be Heel Rick Porcello signed out of high school with the Detroit Tigers. UNC-Wilmington righty Brad Holt (11-1)is also expected to be selected in Thursday's draft. If the Heels hold on to their lead they will advance to the Super Regional next weekend.
