Now, that was a memorable home run. Tim Federowicz's grand slam did what no one else had been able to do: put a stop to LSU's series of miracles. In baseball, all of that magic has a way of evening out.
That means the Tar Heels advance to play Fresno State and the Bulldogs' starting pitcher, who is...being kept a secret by Fresno head coach Mike Batesole. That's his prerogative, of course. And Batesole made his way to the CWS the hard way. His team seems to be having plenty of fun so far in Omaha, including a bit of good humor with ESPN's Barry Larkin.
In non-grand slam news, we did get the full story on the upside down man who infiltrated the Tar Heel dugout during Thursday's delay. And while pace of games has been an issue in major league baseball lately, it's also starting to be discussed in the college game.
