Austin: I Want To Command Double-Teams

Marvin Austin is already a run-stuffer and a pocket-collapser. Now you can add author to his list of credentials.

The Tar Heel defensive tackle is keeping a journal for The Sporting News this season. The latest installment appears Thursday morning in The Sporting News Today, a genius piece of the internet that is probably the newspaper wave of the future. Among Austin's pearls of wisdom in this column:

"If I had a dime for every time I get double-teamed (in practice), I can promise you I would be rich."

"I want to be the kind of defensive lineman that commands double-teams, somebody who they scheme to try to get away from."

"(In training camp) we worked on a lot of different situations, things you may see in the games, because anything can happen on Saturdays."
