The UNC Department of Public Safety has put together some tips and guidelines related to parking and traffic for the 2008 football season at Kenan Stadium.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR 2008 FOOTBALL SEASON
New Traffic Patterns near Kenan Stadium
UNC officials will implement two new traffic patterns for football games during the 2008 season:
* Stadium Drive will be converted to a one-way southbound traffic pattern beginning approximately 4 hours before the start of each home game, and will remain so until stadium traffic has dispersed after each game (approximately 2 hours after the game ends). Vehicles parked north of Gate 2 (near the Bell Tower) will still be permitted to exit onto South Road post-game.
* South Road will be converted to a one-way westbound traffic pattern from Country Club Drive to Stadium Drive beginning approximately 4 hours before the start of each home game. Like prior football seasons, this section of South Road will be converted to a one-way eastbound traffic pattern during the 3rd quarter.
* Tar Heel Express Shuttle Buses will continue to load and unload along South Road near Carmichael Auditorium as they have during prior football seasons.
These changes are being implemented for the following reasons:
* Improve pedestrian safety and access for large volumes of fans and students crossing Stadium Drive and South Road before and after games
* Create more manageable and predictable traffic patterns, improving the efficiency by which fans arrive and depart Kenan Stadium
For the most enjoyable experience, plan to arrive early and take advantage of the many planned activities on campus including Tar Heel Town, the Old Well Walk and others!
UNC Public Safety strongly encourages football fans to park and ride to Kenan Stadium for home games. Park and ride bus service is offered from the NC 54 Friday Center Lot; from the Dillard's end of University Mall, from the Estes Drive "P" Lot, or from the 725 Martin Luther King Jr. Lot beginning three (3) hours prior to a scheduled home game kick-off. Park and ride service is also available from the Jones Ferry Road and Southern Village lots beginning 90 minutes prior to game time. Parking in these areas is free, and round-trip service is $5 on these routes. Additionally, "Touch DownTown" shuttles will service the AOB / R1 / R2 Lot off Airport Drive and the 725 Martin Luther King Jr. Lot from three (3) hours prior to game time until 90 minutes following the end of each home game. "Touch DownTown" shuttles will make stops along Franklin Street, Cameron Avenue, and South Road.
