UNC Releases 2008-09 Men's Tennis Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--The University of North Carolina Athletic Department has released the official 2008-09 schedule for the Tar Heels Men's Tennis team.
For the second straight season, UNC will open their spring season with a doubleheader against Campbell and North Carolina Central. After their opener, the Tar Heels will host four teams (VCU, California, and Michigan) in a qualifier for the ITA Team Indoor tournament held in Chicago, Ill. from Feb. 12-15. When they return, the Tar Heels will play another doubleheader against Georgetown and Howard, then begin the ACC portion of their schedule against North Carolina State.
UNC has two notable non-conference matches scheduled against Big Ten opponents. The first is an away match against Ohio State on Feb. 8, followed by a home match against Michigan on March 15. Ohio State and Michigan finished last season ranked third and 16th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NCAA poll, respectively.
