CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After experiencing record-setting baseball season ticket sales, the University of North Carolina will put single-game baseball tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday on TarHeelBlue.com. The Tar Heels will play 38 home games at the new Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium with the opener set for Feb. 20 against VMI.
In the new facility, tickets will cost $10 and $7 for all Atlantic Coast Conference games and $7 and $5 for non-league contests. The higher-priced seats will be between first and third base, while the lower-priced seats will be down the left and right field lines.
Children under two will be admitted free of charge. Carolina students, staff and faculty can receive a free ticket based on availability with their UNC OneCard for any game.
The Tar Heels will play five ACC series at home, highlighted by three-game sets with Clemson (March 6-8), Virginia (March 27-29) and Miami (April 17-19). The April 18 meeting with the Hurricanes will be the dedication game for the state-of-the-art facility.
Carolina is ranked No. 1 in the preseason NCBWA rankings and was picked as the favorite to capture the ACC title by the league's head coaches earlier this week.
Ticket information as well as a promotions schedule for the 2009 season are available at TarHeelBlue.com.
