Carolina's defense limited the Seminoles to just 43 yards rushing and the unit has now held five of seven opponents under 100 yards on the season. However, FSU's 395 yards passing marked a season-high against the Tar Heel defense by more than 200 yards (previous high was 192 by East Carolina).
Florida State's 98-yard touchdown pass from Christian Ponder to Rod Owens marked the longest offensive play from scrimmage (pass or run) in any game in UNC football history. It was also the longest pass play in Kenan Stadium history and the longest ever against North Carolina by an opponent in any game. The previous long play was 97 yards by Miami's Kyle Wright to Darrell Jenkins in Kenan in 2007.
The Seminoles scored 30 points, the most against Carolina this year (previous was 24 by Georgia Tech)
The Seminoles gained 438 yards, the most allowed by the Tar Heels this year (previous was 407 by Georgia Tech).
Christian Ponder threw for 395 yards, tying the seventh-most ever against UNC. Ponder completed 33 of 40 passes. The 33 completions tie the fourth-most ever against Carolina.
FSU wide receiver Rod Owens caught nine passes for 199 yards, the sixth-most receiving yards against a Tar Heel defense.
Carolina has scored 69 points in its last two outings - 42 in a win over Georgia Southern and 27 tonight in the loss to Florida State.

Junior wide receiver Greg Little, who had 60 yards receiving and a season-best 48 yards rushing, accounted for 58 of the Tar Heels' 80 yards on their opening drive. He caught three passes for 53 yards, then scored on a 5-yard run for his sixth career rushing TD and first this season.
Junior quarterback T.J. Yates passed for one touchdown and ran for another. His 10-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was his first of the season and the fourth of his career.
Junior tight end Ed Barham scored his first career touchdown on a 13-yard pass from T.J. Yates to give Carolina a 14-3 lead in the first quarter.
Senior fullback Bobby Rome hooked up with Greg Little on a 31-yard pass in the first quarter for his third career completion. Rome is the fifth different Tar Heel to complete a pass this season.
Senior defensive end E.J. Wilson recorded his first sack of the season and forced his second fumble to set up the Tar Heels' second touchdown of the first quarter. The sack was the ninth of Wilson's career and his third career forced fumble. Junior defensive tackle Marvin Austin recorded his first career fumble recovery on the play.
