1) How did you get started in gymnastics?
My mom put me in gymnastics because I was always flipping around the house and had so much energy so she put me in gymnastics kind of as just something to do with my time, and it looked fun.
2) What do you like most about being an athlete at UNC?
Just being a part of a team and knowing that you can share all your emotional moments with your teammates. It is just a great feeling to know that your teammates will support you in and out of the gymnastics world. We are all like sisters.
3) Do you have any pre-meet rituals or superstitions?
I just pray and listen to music. Both of those things get me pumped!
4) So far, what has been the biggest challenge for you in your first year of collegiate gymnastics?
Mainly academics. I just had to find the balance between school and gymnastics and eliminate some of the extra activities that some of my other friends, who were non collegiate athletes, were doing.
5) Where is your favorite place to eat on Franklin Street?
Probably B'Skis. Love it!
6) What is your favorite and least favorite event? And why?
Favorite event would probably be beam. It is actually very relaxing. Least favorite, well I do not really have one. All other three events pretty much are the same to me.
7) Of all your teammates, past and present, who have you learned the most from? And why?
Probably my collegiate teammates because they have the most experience with the real world and what it is like to be sort of on your own, and away from their parents.
8) Who in your life do you admire the most? And why?
It would be my mom. She has had to deal with a lot in her life and has managed to make the best of every situation, so therefore she always came out on top, no matter how long it took. She taught me to stick with whatever I am trying to accomplish and don't quit.
9) What is the best advice you have ever received?
I guess, to know myself.
10) What is your favorite class/subject at UNC Chapel Hill?
Probably Psychology 101. I want to be a psychiatrist when I get older so psychology is very interesting to me. It makes me happy.
